Executives Of Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Call On The Vice-Chancellor Of Knust.

The Executives of Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA ) today paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor (VC) and Management of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in kumasi.

The meeting which offered GUSA Executives the opportunity to introduce themselves also discussed a host of issues including congratulating the VC Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, Pro-Vice Chancellor Ellis Owusu-Dabo and the Director of Sports Mr. Timothy Kwabena Mensah on their appointment, how best the two entities could work together to organize a successful GUSA games and inspection of sporting facilities among others.

In his opening address, the GUSA President, Mr. Shaibu Tanko Ibrahim informed the Vice Chancellor and her team how happy the Association was on their appointment and congratulated them.
He thank the University for accepting to host the next GUSA games and requested for an update on preparations so far. He further raised issues of Member Universities not paying their required dues to GUSA which was hindering the progress of the Association.

Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu, a member of the Executive Coucil, outlined the benefits of hosting the GUSA and added that this year’s GUSA games will act as rehearsal for the 2023 African games to be hosted by Ghana.

The Vice Chancellor on her part said KNUST is taking the GUSA games so personal and serious since it is a national assignment. To her, organizing the GUSA games will enhance their visibility, boost their ranking and give their sporting facilities a face-lift. The VC emphasised that KNUST is going to host and win the competition. She assured that the University is committed to make sure that this year’s games become successful.
